Primitive/Crafting Glossary

Just finished up the supper dishes. We had pork chops, mac 'n cheese, peas, and applesauce.
I was reading through some of the faves in my blog list (and Linda's was one of them).
Someone had asked her about a primitive glossary being available.

Well, good news!!
You can find one here. :)

I hope it helps.

While you are there , check out some of the other great goodies and freebies that they have to offer.
Good night all and stay warm,
Kim

Something good comes my way...

Something good was in my mail recently.........

This is the hand painted sign that I won from Char.
I love it!!!
Thank you so much Char! I have gotten alot of compliments on it. :)

I have been in a crafting "funk" lately.

(funk- A feeling or spell of dismally low spirits: blues, dejection, depression, despondence, despondency, doldrums, dolefulness, downheartedness, dumps, dysphoria, gloom, glumness, heavy-heartedness, melancholy, mope (used in plural), mournfulness, sadness, unhappiness.)

Yep, that's me!!

There are a few projects that I want to work on, but every time I look at the other things on my list I need to get done, it depresses me.
I have one of the bedrooms cleaned out and still have one more to go. The one that is left is the worst!!! ugh!!! I want to be crafting but then I think CLEAN, CLEAN CLEAN!! gosh, its awful!

I spent about 4 hours yesterday online looking at crafting ideas and makeovers. There is lots of inspiration out there!! :)

Today I really didn't feel like cleaning and we had company( which is the best excuse for not cleaning). Tomorrow, I am determined to get busy and get it cleared out ( well, at least some of it).

Want to see how bad it is???

Forget it, I am too embarrassed.

An Outdoors Project

I am hoping that everyone is staying warm and sipping tea or hot chocolate. :)
The weather here has been in the 40's and very mild.
It is muddy though; you can see little paw prints on the kitchen floor in a few spots. :)
I have been trying to clean out one of the bedrooms that during the kitchen renovation and the holidays, I CRAMMED full of all the surplus. It has got to go!! I can't even stand opening the door! I am to the point I just want it out of here. My plans are to completely clean out the room, pull the carpet up and paint the walls as a start. I am leaning toward more primitives in the room but want to stay in the taupe and cream color range( at least right now that's what I am thinking, lol).

Anyways, I was outside today with our dog, Adam and was also removing the pine boughs.
It made me realize how bare the yard looks. :(
So.............
I was looking around online and seen these-

ICE LANTERNS

Now I am thinking these are pretty cool and would go with just about any decor.
The best part is they would be super easy!!! Everyone is always tweaking and primping inside their homes but what about outside? Sure, its too cold for flowers, but what about other ideas to perk up things outdoors?

While you are there check out some of the before and after projects they have shown. :)

Be back soon. :)

Chilly, Windy Monday

Good morning,
First, I want to say thank you for all the comments on my previous post and the emails.
It really means alot to me.

I have been dealing with an ear infection the last few days; first time ever I have had one.
Spent the weekend at home, staying warm and watching TV.

What did you do this past weekend?

I guess they are calling for more snow this evening and into tomorrow.
I don't mind it, though I do complain more about it as I get older. :)
The wind is what I dislike.

I need to do a little cleaning around here and find me a project to work on.

What sounds good to fix for supper?

Not a good start......

This is not a good start to the new year.
Smokey passed away this morning at 6:31 am.

She was 17 1/2 years old.
Smokey has been with me through everything; the girls growing up, the good times and the bad times.
She has always been there.
She was my baby.
She loved laying on the deck or under the hostas listening to classical music. I used to leave the radio play outside just for her. When she was hungry she would do little "donkey kicks" around the kitchen to get your attention.
I held her and cried till I couldn't even breathe.

First project in 2010

The majority of my day was spent at home. I did a little cleaning, getting rid of some old magazines and patterns and laundry. But,in between I made this.

The pattern is a freebie over at Patternmart
I decided to do something different with it instead of the usual framing.
The cutting board is from "The Dollar Zone", (its an everything for a dollar store). I had bought it about a month ago and was going to paint, distress and add a primitive label. Well, I like this so much better - its different! I painted the board, distressed and stained. The stitchery was easy and didn't take long at all. There is a coat of matte modge podge on top to protect it from getting dirty.
I would like to find a cross stitch pattern with a primitive pineapple and "welcome" on it to make and put on my front door.
