In a slump...........

Hi everyone,
I thought I would get on and post , pardon me if it gets too boring..
Lately, I have been in a slump when it comes to crafting. I am supposed to have an Uncle Sam doll done in two weeks;it is started, but not done. There is a stitchery laying here that is unfinished too.
I look beside the chair and I have magazines that I haven't even read yet.
Bedroom is painted, but I still haven't picked out curtains.
My now empty nester bedrooms still need cleaned and painted.
There is a few plants that haven't been put in the ground yet.
New storm door is here ( and been here) but they sent the wrong size.
Clothes need folded
I haven't baked anything for a week
Geez, I could go on and on.
Tell me, how do you get out of a slump?
What picks you up and gets you motivated?
Does someone want to give me a swift kick?? :) lol

  1. Usually when I get in a slump, it just ends as fast as it started. I just wake up one day and off I go. And usually the slump has to do with the weather. If it's nice out, I'm much more motivated to work than if it's dreary and yucky!

I know lately that things have not been great here. Money has been really tight, but in spite of that, I'm in a good mood. I'm feeling good, I'm happy about life...I didn't think I would feel this way but I do. The one thing that I have to say is that my life is a lot happier...lighter...now that I got rid of the extra baggage that was wearing me down.

    I hope you feel better!

  2. Sorry to hear you are in a slump. I know how you feel, I've been there, everyone has at some time I imagine. Hang in there, you'll wake up one morning and be back to yourself.
    Have a Great evening.
    Hugs, Bren

  5. Sounds to me like you just need a day to yourself. I'd say take a good long walk to clear your head and make you feel motivated. Hope it helps. Sometimes it's nice just to not do anything anyway!

  7. Hope you get to feeling better. I have been in a funk since last October. I am just now getting back to doing things I love. A lot of mine was stress and school. Well the biggest part of the stress is gone and now there is only a few more days of school and I'm got the desire to get back into the groove. If I were closer, I would try to get you busy with me. :)

    Take care,
    Debbie

  8. okay girlie....don't make me get my craft whipping stick out at you!...I will though if necessary...hehehehehehehehe

I know sometimes it is a little hard to get started on something...or to just pick something up and finish it!...especially if you loose interest in it!...which I have done myself too at times.

So first, I want you to pick up that dollie that needs done...whether it just be for an hour tonite while you are watching tv...work on it!...even if it is just for a little time.

I know that getting into a slump is sometimes hard to get out of...so, what I do is make sure I work on something Mon-Fri. for atleast 1/2 to 1 hour each day!...I don't care if it is stitchin while sitting in the evening...or painting in the mid of the day...just work on something and it will keep you out of that slump!

  9. I have a feeling that some of your slump may be due to the door coming in the wrong size.

If you are anything like me, something like that will mess me up big time. Then I don't feel like doing anything.

Just enjoy the long weekend and let it happen when it happens.

    Blessings friend,
    Rosemary

  11. I guess I like the idea of spending on day just doing something you love....hang in there...maybe you just have too much to do and you are overwhelmed. Start with something small and move forward. Dianntha

  12. I wish I had some ideas for you, but I don't. I hope you figure out a way out of your slump soon!
And then publish the information, and we'll all buy it, and you'll be set for life!

  14. I hate slumps.....I made some things last week....by doing originals. Get out some fabric and try to make something out of your head. What I made might not be everyone's taste...but I enjoyed making them. Pop over and have a look. Also....I go onto blogs, webshots, picturetrails for inspiration. Good luck...and start on something small....oh and I end up ignoring all of my UFO's.

Let us know how you get on.
