Flat Screen TV Stand & more

Wow, I can't believe how long it has been since I last posted.
I know I promised pics in March but it just never happened.
There is always something going on around here. :)
So, here I am TODAY with some new stuff !

First, I want to show you the $25.00 buffet that I bought.
The one in the pic below is so similar and since I already had started painting it, I figured this one would work for the "before" shot.

BEFORE
INT2317_MED

We took the bottom scroll work off and replaced it with a piece of 1x3 pine.
Removed the ornate handles, sanded it all over, and got to painting- the interior and exterior was done. The paint is called "Summer Sand".
More sanding was done. Followed with a couple coats of Minwax "special walnut"stain and then rubbed in with a soft cloth. The handles I bought at Lowes for $5.97 each.

TA-DA!!

It is now a new TV stand. :)

I love it!!!!!

Next project was this shelf.
This pic was taken back in October( the reason for the fall accessories).

BEFORE

Well, although I love primitives, I think everyone is on the barn star overload in decorating.
I mean you see them everywhere!!
I like to be different, lol. so...............

I downsized on all the stuff surrounding the clock too.
The clock is not attached to the wall, rather it is sitting in a wrought iron display stand from Walmart clearance.
This is so much better and I think the clock still looks old.
clock price, including plate display stand- $20.00!

One more project ..........................

Pottery Barn- vintage pickling jar
img67m
I love these old oversized jars but, there was no way I could afford to pay the $179.00 that Pottery Barn was asking. So, I have been on a mission..........

...................and look at what i found..

It was at Hobby Lobby!!!!

on clearance AND in a better color that matched my home. SWEET!!!!!
Price $4.27 ( including tax!!)
The candle I have had since wayyy before the holidays and didn't really have a place to put it( it has found a home now).
The old rolling pin was a swap goodie I received.

Do you think I have done good while I was gone?? :)

Yep much better on the shelf. Is that glass vase amber in color? It's awesome. I wish I had a Hobby Lobby near me.

  2. Love it, love it, love it all - although I have no idea why you think $179 is too much for a jar... just because that's more than my ENTIRE monthly electricity bill doesn't mean I shouldn't spend it on ONE decorative accent, does it? :)
