rain, rain, go away..........

and yet another day of chilly , windy.and rainy weather.
Saturday I went to a couple yard sales and a moving sale. I bought a wood box full of old math cards and other little doo dads. I thought the cards may be great for altered art projects. I really wanted the box so getting things all together was a great deal. I also bought an old strainer with a wooden handle, a couple grapevine wreaths and a wood bushel basket. Oh, and I also picked up a couple more hostas. did I tell you that I love hostas??!!! lol
Anyways, I spent $12.00 on the entire lot.
We also went to the annual herb guild sale. I managed to get 2 lavender, 9 lemon balm, and
1 salvia( lady in red) for 5.00!
I was so excited!!
I almost forgot to tell you that I bought some broom corn seeds for 50 cents. not sure where I am going to plant them. I know I really loved finding it last year; it is so primitive looking and can be used in all kinds of fall decorations.

I will get some new pics on here soon.
dd#2 used the camera and guess, what?? dead batteries! ggrr..

today we cooked out despite the weather.
hot dogs, baked beans, deviled eggs and baked potato salad was on the menu.

baked potato salad ( my own recipe)

chunk 6 large potatos and cook, drain when done
add 3 tablespoons of bacon bits
dice 1/2 of one green onion( include the greens too)
add 1 cup sour cream
add 1/2 cup mayo
salt and pepper to taste

mix all in a bowl and chill before serving.
its really good!!

bye for now, kim

  1. I'm going to have to try that baked potatoe salad, sounds so good! It's still overcast here too and I sure can't wait till the weekend for that warmer weather they predicted!
