First project in 2010

The majority of my day was spent at home. I did a little cleaning, getting rid of some old magazines and patterns and laundry. But,in between I made this.

The pattern is a freebie over at Patternmart
I decided to do something different with it instead of the usual framing.
The cutting board is from "The Dollar Zone", (its an everything for a dollar store). I had bought it about a month ago and was going to paint, distress and add a primitive label. Well, I like this so much better - its different! I painted the board, distressed and stained. The stitchery was easy and didn't take long at all. There is a coat of matte modge podge on top to protect it from getting dirty.
I would like to find a cross stitch pattern with a primitive pineapple and "welcome" on it to make and put on my front door.

  1. That turned out cute! Where are you going to hang it now?

  2. Thanks so much for sharing the link to this pattern...I have a daughter named Emma so this was a must have. Come to think of it, your idea would make a great "spankin' paddle". Kidding! She's almost 17 now and has probably only had two spankings her entire life! Thanks again.

  5. The board looks great!!! Love it. I did a stitchery with a pineapple, crow, and welcome last year. It was a pattern from Moonchilds Primitives. Don't know if it is what you want, but you can take a look. I have a direct link from my blog. Good luck.
