Not a good start......

This is not a good start to the new year.
Smokey passed away this morning at 6:31 am.

She was 17 1/2 years old.
Smokey has been with me through everything; the girls growing up, the good times and the bad times.
She has always been there.
She was my baby.
She loved laying on the deck or under the hostas listening to classical music. I used to leave the radio play outside just for her. When she was hungry she would do little "donkey kicks" around the kitchen to get your attention.
I held her and cried till I couldn't even breathe.

  8. I am so sorry. I can understand quite well how you feel - I lost my St. Bernard Lucy yesterday morning, we had her for 7 years, I cried all day yesterday, trying to keep my mind occupied today. If you need to talk, I totally understand what you are going through.

  12. Bummer. We lost our cat last fall. He was 18 or 19 years old. I can't even remember. When you love them like family, it is hard. Thinking of you.

  13. Oh, sometimes pets are better than family! The unconditional love they give is priceless, and the pain trying to live without this love is agonizing. As a pet lover, I give you my sincere sympathy.

  19. I am so so very sorry for your loss. Losing a pet is just awful. It was good that you were with her. I am sure she misses you as well but is waiting until one day when she sees you again. I always picture heaven for cats as a big sunny field where they can run and play or just be lazy. I'll bet there is classical music there as well. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Please take care of yourself.
