GOod MoNday

Good Monday morning,
Do you love the "stylish" Halloween costumes?? :)

If you would like to see some front porch Fall decor stop over at http://theinspiredroom.net/
We woke up this morning to a chilly 32 degrees outside.
I am so glad that we finished picking tomatoes and cleaned up the yard yesterday.
I went to Walmart to get the salsa mix to make one last batch and they were sold out. I guess I need to stop by Tractor Supply and see if they have any. I use this to mix with the blanched, diced tomatoes because it is more economical than buying a bunch of different spices. I am one of those cooks who change out their spices about every 4 months( because they do lose their flavor).

I think I was taught that in Jr. high home EC class. :) . I have always been a "Suzy homemaker" sorta girl. I loved home EC and wood shop in Jr. high. by the time I got to high school, I dropped the wood shop classes.
I was the girl that the home EC teacher used to ask to prepare the teacher luncheons. I was a great cook back then and I actually loved making petite fours, HorDourves and crescent sandwiches.

I can't believe that this is the 20Th of October. Let's see.......... how many days till Christmas??? There is 66 days and some hours. :)

ps thanks so much for adding my blog to your blog roll!

  2. Thank you so much for the tutorials list. I especially love the advent calendar and the pig on wheels ~ too cute! The soft trees and star and heart ornaments are nice too! They lend themselves to so many possibilities!

I've enjoyed visiting your blog and again, thanks for sharing!

  3. Thanks for sharing these. I too am a newbie and need to go check these out. have a blessed day!

  4. Hi Kim!! Thanks for sharing the tutorial links, I so want to try to make something crafty, I just never really learned, maybe this is the year!!:0) Take care!~Wendy

  5. I loved home ec, too!In Middle school we had to take 9 week classes of Sewing, cooking, wood and metal shops for two years. I loved them all and learned something from them all (I was the first to pass the test to use the scroll saw in 7th grade...because my Pap bought us one years prior! LOL). In high school I took cooking classes every year instead of some boring study hall. I was the one that everyone relied on to make the food decent without burning it! LOL I never knew how much I would use all of that knowledge later in life....it really saddens me to hear that many people can't cook or won't even attempt to :(

You just have to keep mentioning Christmas, don't you? I just don't like looking ahead too far. I try to enjoy TODAY! LOL We don't worry about Christmas until Thanksgiving and then we get the decorations out. Jer and I go shopping one night a few weeks before Christmas and do all of the shopping for the kids in a few hours and we're done. We don't buy a lot and hate spending weeks and months planning. We have it all down to a science and basically that's why I'm not concerned about Christmas yet. It's not time...lol

    Have a great day!

  6. Aargh! You spoke the "C" word and invoked the elvish spirits! Now we're going to be overrun with sugarplums and gingerbread men and candy canes and tinsel and .... what have you done, woman??? :)

  7. I love the ideas of Christmas projects. I will try to check them out later tonight. I love your snowman too...how cute. Dianntha
