Black Friday shopping & After Thanksgiving Poem

After Thanksgiving Poem

'Twas the night of Thanksgiving, but I just couldn't sleep...
I tried counting backwards, I tried counting sheep.
The leftovers beckoned...the dark meat and white,
but I fought the temptation with all of my might.
Tossing and turning with anticipation,
the thought of a snack became infatuation.
So, I raced to the kitchen,
flung open the door
and gazed at the fridge,
full of goodies galore.
I gobbled up turkey and buttered potatoes,
stuffing with gravy, green beans and tomatoes.
I felt myself swelling so plump and so round,
till all of a sudden, I rose off the ground.
I crashed through the ceiling,
floating into the sky
with a mouthful of pudding
and a handful of pie
But, I managed to yell as I soared past the trees...
Happy eating to all -- pass the cranberries, please. :)

Are you shopping on Black Friday??
Nope, not me! I am planning on staying home and doing some sewing. I am going to make a batch of Turkey tetrazzini with the leftover bird.
I have went through about a dozen sale flyers and haven't really seen anything that I would fight the crowds for.
There are quite a bit of good deals out there though.
Most of the things that I found were things I would like to buy myself ;)
A new queen size comforter set from Kohl's on sale for 29.99 (original price 99.99) . I love this one!!!

Walmart Mainstay bath towels $1.50 each( gotta have navy blue),

Home Depot Husky 2-Gallon Compressor w/1" Micro Pin Nailer & 1-1/4" 18-Gauge Brad Nailer - $59.98 ( yes, I want one of those!),

Paula Deen 10-Piece Non-Stick Cookware Set, Green 99.97 at Walmart.

These are going on my "wish list". :)
What's on yours??

  3. Oh, I couldn't agree with you more about Black Friday! I can't remember any year that we shopped on that day.
The only thing we did do a few times is go into State Fair Park for the annual Christmas Craft show and that was a zoo so we stopped doing that as well! lol
Do you mind if I put your blog on my blog list????

  6. No shopping here! Like you, I've found more stuff I'd like than stuff for gifts in the ads, and anyway, I don't think the discounts are going to stop today!

  7. Can I ask how you keep the message about being an award/tag free blog always at the top? I would love to post that as well! Thanks!!

  8. My template wouldn't let me drag the gadget from the bottom to under the header so I just used on in the side column. I appreciate your help though!! hugs, Linda
