I have a question, do you have one of these? I was wondering...... I do alot of that..lol.....
if we could "redo" them a little?
I want to put one in my living room, on the barnwood shelf, or on the tv armoire. They just don't look right, being all new and everything. Ayone got any suggestions of how to age them? Have you tried changing them? I don't want to just add a piece of homespun.......
maybe a label? or printed velium?
It has got to be something so you can still see the flicker through.
I love these candles because you can change the scents with different refills..
I just want a different look. :)

Hmmmmm! Thinking.....
I have seen these but never picked any up. Is there anyway you can grunge up the sides maybe with a stain to make it look old? We love candles and I think I already have some coupons. I may have to pick up a few for the new house.

Thank you for the link for a coupon.. you could grunge them up a little by doing the technique where you coat it with mod podge and then roll them in cinnamon and then spray clear sealer over them. It will give them a rusted/grunge look. When I first heard of doing this I didnt' think it would work but it does. Just a thought.

I wish I had a colored printer cartridge right now! Dang it! I haven't seen the AirWick ones yet. Glade has had theirs for a long time but I just can't bring myself to pay that price! It's crazy what they charge for these things!

I do have some other flameless candles tho, and they arent' prim either!
I took some stained up cheese cloth and sorta warpped it and tied it with ole twine, and added a prim tag... that helps!
I like the label idea ;)

I did a tutorial not long ago on making flicker candles...but you can do the same technique on the outside of this candle...I have on one of mine!...here it is....

ReplyDeleteI have the answer to this in my posts...somewhere! I bought two WONDERFUL battery operated candles, and I tied a piece of Homespun around them to take them down a notch from that whole Contemporary/Modern look, and it really could be done on these, too.
I don't like that I have to plug this up, so it gets limited to someplace else, so I need to get more of the ones I have, and I also didn't think they smelled all that well...not for the price...I use the plug-in scenters, which seem to work far better than this "candle"! Hehehe...
